Britain’s Anthony Joshua says he has made”extreme” lifestyle modifications because his shock defeat by Andy Ruiz in June.
Joshua lost his WBA IBF and WBO heavyweight titles since he had been knocked down four days in New York – one of boxing’s greatest upsets.
The group will fight in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on 7 December.
“Boxing was constantly the easiest part for me personally. The struggle was always maintaining my life in check,” Joshua, 29, told AFP.
“There will not be a aftershock after the very first battle. I will be. Getting knocked down was great.
“I have made some drastic changes, lifestyle stuff. Family, circles, what is crucial, priorities. The effort necessary to stay on the straight and narrow is challenging.”
The pair confronted during an global media tour for the rematch on Thursday using Ruiz – that fights below a Mexican flag – wearing a sombrero.
Joshua pledged to regain his names and insisted”stopping isn’t in my DNA”.
“As long as I have breath in me I keep on fighting the passion of boxing,” said Joshua.
“I confronted overcome as an amateur in my fight. There could be no 10, if I’d stopped. I lost in the. There will be today When I ceased then.
“Everybody in this area was through certain things where no-one thought in them.
“I am not so gun shy and I am looking forward to getting back there and regaining my belts.”
The bout has brought criticism because it was announced it would be in Saudi Arabia.
Human rights organisation Amnesty International has highlighted the nation’s”abysmal” human rights record. Substantial restrictions on freedom of expression and the rights of women are raised, as has the use of the death penalty for offences not recognised as crimes under international law.
The Kingdom has sought to improve how staging entertainment and sporting events in an effort to attract visitors and steer away from the oil-dependent market perceives it.
Joshua said:”I have heard it [criticism of Saudi Arabia’s human rights record] ever since the battle was announced. It’s a point of conversation but it’s a fantastic thing that we are talking about it and they’re currently behaving to make a change.
“They are making good adjustments and after having these kinds of discussions, I begin denying that yes, there is an issue there. My trips to the Middle East have been to Dubai and I have had fun. The reception was great.”
Speaking to DAZN, promoter Eddie Hearn explained:”We can’t ignore the capacity for boxing at the Middle East. I believe this is a of a shield in several respects. Each promoter in boxing strove to get to Saudi Arabia for a mega event.
“Not just Saudi however Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar would be bidding because of battles in future. You embrace the shift or twist your back on it and become an idiot”
Following the defeat in New York’s Madison Square Garden, Joshua said before the offer to bring the struggle was confirmed, that he favoured a return.
“It was a part of the strategy [to struggle New York again]. That was my preferred option,” Joshua said.
His shock defeat in June – the first of the career of the Briton – led to some forecasts for Joshua to part company with Robert McCracken, who has trained him.
“This was a fairly hard night,” McCracken said. “I really don’t think Anthony was that evening but that looks like an excuse since Ruiz was fantastic at the evening. We all know he will be prepared.
“I took flack for weight reduction, I don’t have any problem with that because the head trainer. I wouldn’t have stated when I didn’t believe Anthony could receive his names back do the rematch. Anthony’s only mission is the belts back.”
