The penultimate stop on the FedExCup playoffs gets underway this week in Medinah, Illinois in the BMW Championship. If it comes to odds lists, Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy will be the +800 co-favorites to go all the way.
Koepka and McIlroy would be the +800 favorites at BetOnline, with Jon Rahm (+1000), Dustin Johnson (+1400), Justin Rose (+1600), Justin Thomas (+1600), Patrick Cantlay (+2000), Webb Simpson (+2000), Patrick Reed (+2200) and Adam Scott (+2500) rounding out the top 10.
Just 30 spots are online for the Tour Championship at East Lake, thus a strong performance in Medinah is vital. The last time reigning FedExCup winner Rose and 2016 champion McIlroy played with the course was at the 2012 Ryder Cup — a victory for Europe. The winner of the BMW Championship will get 2,000 FedExCup points. No man has defended his FedExCup name.
Last year at the championship Keegan Bradley pulled off an improbable success to win for the first time in more than five years once the event has been held at Aronimink Golf Club in Newton Square, Pennsylvania. It was the very first time Bradley advanced to the Tour Championship since 2013. The American is a +15000 long haul.
The program, a 7,657-yard par 72, has been a staple amongst American golf dating all of the way back to the 1920s. The course has hosted the Ryder Cup (2012), three U.S. Opens (1949, 1975 and 1990), two PGA Championships (1999, 2006) and also a number of other events in the pre-PGA Tour era.
